Dr. Adnan Ashraf

Research Assistant

Dr. Adnan Ashraf holds a PhD in Social Work and specializes in Child Protection Criminology and Criminological Social Work. He is a dedicated academician, researcher, and social development professional with over 14 years of progressive experience in government, humanitarian, and development sectors. He currently serves as a Social Welfare Officer and Adjunct Lecturer in Sociology at the College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CPMR), Paraplegic Centre Peshawar, Department of Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


His professional career spans child protection systems, child welfare, gender justice, women’s empowerment, disability rights, public policy, post-conflict recovery, emergency interventions, and social inclusion.


Dr. Ashraf’s profile is further strengthened by his specialization in Qualitative Research Methods (delivered by the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary, Canada), Early Childhood Development, Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and Climate Change (Oxford Climate School).


He is actively engaged in field practicum supervision and training of BSW/MSW Social Work students, contributing significantly to their academic growth and professional development.


Dr. Ashraf is currently selected as a Youth Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Assembly), a platform for youth engagement in awareness, advocacy, and resource mobilization. He is working to link this role with initiatives aimed at transforming Muslim youth for gender justice and preventing violence against women (VAW).
